Dr Judith Nimmo BSc, BVSc(Hons), DipPath, MSc, Dip ACVP, PhD, MRCVS

Judith graduated in Science and Veterinary Science with honours from the University of Queensland. After graduation Judith completed an internship and diploma in Veterinary Pathology at Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Canada and gained a MSc [with distinction] in Veterinary Pathology from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England, which included a dissertation on proliferative mammary lesions in cats. She returned to Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan, Canada as an asistant professor in veterinary pathology and gained a diplomate qualification of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.  Judith was awarded a Scholarship by the Medical Research Council of Canada for a PhD on “Cell-mediated Immunity in Dogs with Atopic Dermatitis” (U of Guelph) with Dr Julie Yager, a leading veterinary dermatopathologist.

Judith has had extensive experience in diagnostic veterinary pathology in Australia and overseas including at Regional Veterinary Laboratory in Benalla,VPS (now Gribbles) and Idexx Laboratory in Melbourne and in teaching pathology at Universities  of Saskatchewan,

Guelph and Melbourne. Judith is a registered Veterinary Specialist Pathologist in Victoria, has written in over 40 referred journal articles and chapters in textbooks, and has given more than 45 presentations at national and international conferences. She was on the editorial board of “Veterinary Dermatology” and is a reviewer for several international journals. She has a special interest in surgical pathology and dermatopathology and is a member of The International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathologists as well as the Australian Society of Veterinary Pathologists and the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
